Who We Are
Dominion Farms is a regenerative, diversified farm in Sweet Home Oregon serving local customers in the region.
We raise pastured poultry, forested pork, and grass fed beef - all keeping the health of the animal, the soil, and the consumer in mind.
“There ain’t no money in farming!” is a common refrain in modern industrial agriculture. Dominion Farms made a profit in its first year of business utilizing a holistic approach to leasing land, sourcing feed, and a boots on the ground approach to animal health and well being.
In addition to 8 different farmers markets throughout the Willamette Valley, we supply stores like Source Farms and First Alternative Coop with high quality local products. Our chickens have been featured in high end restaurants like The Humble Spirit in McMinnville Oregon, which was recently listed as the 4th best farm-to-table restaurant in the USA by Newsweek.
We also serve dozens of customers throughout the year on a personal, direct to consumer level, helping put food on their tables as well as selling livestock throughout the community.
No matter how you receive our products, we are excited for you to join us in “Taking Dominion Over the Food We Eat!”
Kiersten Helland
Kiersten Helland has loved taking care of animals (especially cows!) her whole life. In her teens she was already pulling calves, helping first time mama cows in difficult birthing situations. At age 17 she started her own greenhouse business, selling thousands of starts throughout the Willamette valley in the following growing seasons.
She brings her expertise with animal health and sanitation, as well as her deep seated concern for and knowledge of balanced nutrition to Dominion Farms.
Daniel Helland
Daniel Helland is the ambitious entrepreneurial spirit behind Dominion Farms. Since he was young he dreamed of running a diverse, active farm.
In 2020, he interned at the world renowned Polyface Farms, under the teaching of Joel and Daniel Salatin. In returning to Oregon, he gained more experience in livestock, gardening, permaculture and water retention from his work with the popular Tabula Rasa Farms.
In addition, Daniel gained some experience working for River Refuge Seed, a seed producer in Brownsville Oregon specializing in native restoration and wildlife attraction.
Now at 25, Daniel is excited to see how he can put what he learned into motion with Dominion Farms.
Cherokee
Meet Cherokee, Dominion Farm’s faithful canine!
Raised on the farm from an 8 week old pup, Cherokee not only is on guard duty 24/7 but plays with the animals as her friends, often licking a newborn chick or sleeping with the farm cats tucked into her dog house!
